It's only Wednesday...

...but geez there has been A LOT of drama in the nail polish world in the past week! A polish collection inspired by real-life serial killers; the clamor surrounding the Cult Nails earring giveaway, and now the return(?) of Nerd Lacquer. My head is still spinning from all of it. I am not going to rehash any of it here, those horses have been beaten beyond death and need to be buried already, but there is one thing I noticed across all three events - a lack of respect of opposing views by many people. As soon as anyone had a dissenting opinion, I don't know if it was mob mentality or what but soooo many people jumped and things got crazy. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of some indies, and I respect what they do and the effort they put into their work. But I am not going to lie, I do not love every single polish they create, nor do I have to. And I should be able to state that without fear of repercussions even though I know I am going against the popular consensus. Just like all of the indie groupies have the right to rave how awesome and super they think the maker/polish is, anyone who does not feel the same should be able to say that too. I think as a whole we tend to forget that if we want people to respect our opinion we need to do the same for theirs. So, my deep thought of the day is remember to respect and consider the opinions of everyone else - just because they do not agree with you does not always mean they are wrong.

But enough about that, now for NOTD. Today I have for you I'm So Sari from SOPI.

This is a turquoise, maybe teal, foil with holo hexes. I used two coats for opacity since the first was a bit sheer, and then a coat of Gelous and a coat of HK Girl. Unfortunately it still is not leveled, so I would use two coats of Gelous next time because I usually like my manis like glass. Sari, I mean sorry (haha) for the blurry pics but it was the only way I could really pick up the scattered holo. Overall I am not sure how I feel about it. I usually prefer using a matte topcoat on foils, but I didn't think that was a great idea because of the holo glitter. Perhaps seeing it in sunlight will help. And now if we could just have some sun...

And that's all for me for now, catch all of you later.
